our son!!!

asa cotton slade was born friday, august 31, 2007, at 5:41 pm weighing 7 lbs 6.7 oz. labor and delivery were a "piece of cake"...it was the "aftermath" that caught us by surprise. none of TLC's bringing home baby and baby story episodes ever told us about "spinal headaches." :o) i had to receive two (one saturday night and another on tuesday morning) blood patches (blood was drawn from my arm and injected into my back to create a blood clot where spinal fluid was leaking) to alleviate the pain. i will blog about all this in detail later...but for now just wanted to give an explanation as to why we're so late in posting pictures and sharing our glorious news. i have been in bed all week, and david has been super human husband/papa too exhausted to post our news. thank the Lord for my mom (we love you!) being with us this past week...she totally rocked the house. enjoy these various pictures for now, and check back here whenever you'd like 'cause there will be lots more pics to come, as well as, many stories of the journey of parenthood and our little boy. enjoy! we love you all!!!

I love you guys so much - you are all so beautiful and I want to see you right now! Asa has changed so much already just this week. Also, who would have thought you would have picked a name so cool that we'd call him that instead of Cotton? See you soon
